The Green Season’s position is to create economic and social impact in fashion through sustainable design and respect for the environment. This show takes an inventive step forward to reduce our carbon footprint one runway at a time.
Local/Western NY designers, boutique owners, and fashion design students will be showcasing innovative design and unconventional garments stemmed from eco-friendly materials to an audience ready to Live Local & Grow Global. Everything from paper dresses to up-cycled garments to organic materials will be parading the “turf-walk” at this year’s show.
Showcasing designers:
Even Odd
Melissa Murphy
Siro’s Fashion in Design
The winners of the Single Origin Fashion Project
And many, many more…
Highlighting the spirit of innovation locally grown Mark D’Andreta (Fastcompany May 2012) and designer Joe Faris (Season Five of Project Runway) will be debuting their Motor City Denim Company, fall jean collection.
The show will be divided up into three segments: Re-Fashion, Re-Fuse, and Rock, Paper, Scissors. Each segment of the fashion show will represent a different avenue of creating innovative & sustainable materials. Who says fashion and sustainability can’t go hand-in-hand?
If you are looking for something to do this weekend, why not have an evening of Green-ovation, Innovation, & Re-Creation? I am so bummed that I won't be able to make this event.
Please send me pictures and let me know how it goes. What a fabulous idea!
You can also rsvp on facebook.
xoxo
Jenny
